Choose ANY character from ANY of the novels we read this year (Freak the Mighty, Esperanza Rising, The Westing Game, Stargirl) and design what you think their hydroflask would look like. Choose the color, design or find stickers to put on it. Hydroflasks are always so unique to each person so this should be a unique reflection of your chosen character. Please also identify which character and from what novel. This may be printed out and done as well.

Tip: for stickers, use remove.bg like we did with the locker project paired with any sticker website like Redbubble to find stickers that would be appropriate for your character
Op Art creation. (Due by end of period in next Friday's Art Class)

You will need:
White paper (lined paper fine if you don’t have plain white paper)
Black sharpie, pen, or marker (marker or sharpie are preferred)
Colored pencils or crayons (not markers)

1. Begin by making a curved horizontal line (think hills not mountains) from one end of the page to the other
2. Make 8 dots on your line. Make sure the distance between those dots varies and that you have a dot close to each end of the paper too
3. Start connecting the dots with bumps. The lines from the dots close to the edge will go off the edge of the paper to an imaginary dot
4. Keep making bumps. The lines will eventually go off the top and bottom of the paper.
5. Fill the WHOLE paper
6. Pick 2 or 3 colors that you think would go together nicely. Colored pencil or crayons, fill in the spaces. Press harder in the corners. As you get near the top of each bump, press lighter and lighter. This will create a shade and highlight effect. Alternate those colors along the same bumps
7. Continue until work is complete

(If you get stuck, check out the Youtube tutorial I've linked below)
Use this area to turn in your 1-5 minute long stop motion short film. The requirements that we went over in class before are:

-Must be 1-5 minutes in length (this can include title and credits)
-Must tell a story. This means that there must be a clear beginning, middle, and end with some sort of conflict or goal

Other than that, as shown with your storyboarding, just have fun with it. We have had several weeks to work on this and some of you are already done, so simply attach your video here and turn in. Friday's class will be used to troubleshoot and/or finish.
Creating your own Mandala for calming and centering. Watch the video on how to create your own Mandala and spend some time with some calming music (I've linked the one I always play in class for you guys) to create one of your own, bonus if it’s colored in! Feel free to create a unique pattern of your own, but the idea is to fill up as much of the blank page that you can. Take a picture and turn in here.
