<div>Students are finishing their spring novel and completing their Reading Journal (attached) by Wednesday, May 10th.&nbsp; This is the final day to complete both.&nbsp; We start writing our novel reflection paragraphs next week.&nbsp; This paragraph will have seven sentences (total), including a thesis statement, and one parenthetical citation from the novel they read.&nbsp; The thesis will center on setting, character, conflict, or theme (one element).&nbsp; Students know our writing process, we will start with handwritten rough drafts, then peer editing and teacher edits, rewrites, and a final typed draft.&nbsp; This reflection paragraph is a precursor to the research essay we will write to finish the school year ( on First Ladies/Presidents).&nbsp; Check out our Express Yourself bulletin board with our most recent essays on Where the Red Fern Grows (see attached photos), and our Poetry bulletin board with our recent spring poems.</div>
