3rd Grade!
Welcome to Third Grade!
Hi Third Grade Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School year! This is my 13th year here at St. Charles and I am looking forward to another excellent year! I am originally from New York and moved here in 2010 after finishing my Master's Degree in New York in Special Education. I have my undergraduate degree in Childhood Education.
I look forward to meeting everyone and having a wonderful school year!

Week of 4/29/24 - News
Dear Third Grade Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Progress reports were sent home on Friday. Please sign and return them when you have a chance. Later this week students will be taking a test on their knowledge of religion called, ARK. This test like STAR, will not count toward their report card it is rather a test of knowledge thus far in religion.
On Friday we will have two tests, spelling on d/t words, and math on 100 multiplication facts and one on math concepts. Students should continue practicing multiplication facts at home as we are beginning to work on multi digit multiplication now as well.
We are beginning to read our next class novel, Matilida, today. Students will work on comprehesion questions after reading, and will be assessed on the whole book once we are finished. If your child is out any day they should take their book home to catch up on missed reading.
I hope everyone has a great week!
Mrs. Hurtado
