Service Projects:  As Committed Catholics (SLE) we strive to be active members of our school, church, and community. We collect for both projects during Prayers each morning.

 

1) Toys for Christmas - gender-neutral gifts that someone their age would like to receive. 

                                        By this Friday

2) Childhood Mission Association - collection of dimes each morning.  

                                                             By Wednesday, Dec. 19th.

 

Art Supplies??? Does anyone have acrylic paints left over (we'll need lots of greens) that they would like to donate to the class for an art project next week???  

 

As Committed Catholics (SLE) we strive to be active members of our school, church, and community.  We will begin collecting toys for Christmas in December for our 4th grade service project.  Fourth graders are encouraged to think of gender-neutral gifts that someone their age would like to receive. Now is a good time to look for deals ;-))

Spelling:  create game cards for the last 10 List 11 words (We reviewed mistakes made with the first half in class today. They do not need to redo anything- just make this half correctly); cards are divided into 3 equal sections; the top section has the word, the middle section has the definition (s), and the bottom section has a picture of the word in use.

4th Grade Religion Service Hours:  We have 2 service opportunities this month. Students are asked to participate in at least one of the two for the first trimester service hours.   

                  Goodie Bags for our Service Center is an opportunity for students to make small

                        Trick-or-Treat bags for the children serviced by our center.  Students may lead their

                        families or friends in filling treat bags with candies and/or small toys/stickers,...  

                        They may also choose to get together with friends at recess to fill them.

                  Samaritan's Purse is a charity organization that provides Christmas gifts to less

                        fortunate children in the world. A flier will go home tomorrow with more details 

                        about this service project.

WELCOME TO 4th GRADE!!!  First assignment due tomorrow

 

Literature:  Students received a list of character traits today.  We are looking at describing characters in Literature, so to start we will look at describing ourselves and looking at how other see us.  Students have 3 cards (one for themselves, one for a parent, and the final for another adult- could be another parent/guardian).  Each person should choose 5-10 characteristics that describe the student.  Please take time if you can to explain what you see or hear them do that leads you to choose that trait about them.
