                                      we use in class.  After the first read through, students should take

                                      a couple of free comprehension test online.  Then students should begin                                            the 2nd read-through.  This time they should be going deeper into                                                      understanding character, setting, conflict, plot, and conflict resolution. 

                                      For non-fiction books, student should be creating a timeline or chart of

                                      major events, places, or people mentioned.   After the 2nd read-through

                                      students should take a few other free online comprehension test to 

                                      prepare for the TEST on Monday, 12/9.

 

 

UP COMING:

 

December 3- 4th grade is celebrating Grinch Day (which was really Dec. 1st) by wearing green accessories (NO colored hair- anything appropriate that could be removed if it becomes a distraction)) and doing some "Grinchy" activities during class.  Anyone wanting to enhance the fun by providing a SMALL "green" Grinchy snack??? --- we wouldn't say no ;-)

*** Teddy Bear Share Day with TK partners will be celebrated Monday, September 9th.  Tks will bring their Teddys to school and 4th grade can bring their Teddys to school.  Before we go to PE we will go to TK to have our Teddys "meet" each other and to share an animal cracker treat ;-)  If you have an extra Teddy to share with a 4th grader who does not have one that would be so wonderful of you to allow them to borrow it for the greet-and-meet time.  Our Teddys will say bye-bye to each other as we go off to resume our classes.  As long as they do not become distractions, students will be allowed to keep the Teddys at their desk during the rest of the day.  (Otherwise I get to "bear-sit" them till the end of the day- free ;-)
