How to be a Coder: Origami boat


An algorithm is a list of steps in order to complete a task. 


  • In Code Monkey, you had to give a list of instructions to help a monkey catch his bananas. 
    • (for example- step 10, turn right, turn left)

  • You will follow a list of 10 commands (steps) to make an Origami Boat! 
    • (Open the attached pdf worksheet) 

Materials:

  • 1 letter size (*8.5x11) Piece of paper
    • Ex. Scrapbook paper, construction paper, decorative wrapping paper, newspaper, or draw and color your own design on the paper.

Submit work: 
Please submit a picture of your origami boat to my Seesaw class. I can’t wait to see how your boats come out!

  • On iPad, click on Seesaw app> Select your name> add Photo to Origami Boat folder.

Lesson 1: Let's Get Started (3-8)

In this STEM lesson, students will begin the 16 lesson set to learn a programming language. Your students will define coding and computer programming.

 

CodeMonkey is a fun and educational game environment where students learn to code in a real programming language, no previous experience needed. We envision a global playful learning experience where the next generations of coders are born and raised.

 

This is a student paced lesson that needs to be completed. You cannot come back to later.
