Study for Tuesday's Chapter 6 test by completing the Review and Test Practice questions on pages 230-231 (questions 1-16) on loose leaf paper to be collected in the morning.  Students are encouraged to update their notes tonight as they are allowed to use their notebook during the test tomorrow (closed-book).  Science workbooks will be collected before the test; students should have completed pages 67-73.

Classwork
We reviewed and discussed Lesson 1 which focuses on The Water Cycle, and graded the worksheet pages we completed from Monday.  We then started Lesson 2 and took a "field trip" outside to the yard to classify clouds and cloud structure.

Chapter 5 (The Water Cycle) Lesson 1

Classwork
We took notes on the Water Cycle and discussed how the sun heats up the earth's surface water (evaporation) into water vapor (gas), it then condensates to form clouds, and eventually falls back to earth in the form of precipitation (rain, snow, sleet, hail).  Transpiration from plants also heavily influences the water cycle by producing water vapor.  Altogether, the water cycle cleanses the earth's atmosphere and produces renewable fresh water for us each minute, each hour, each day, all week, every month, all year long -- a continuous, never-ending cycle.  Note: students were reminded that Earth began with fresh water, and seas and and oceans built up sentiment and salt over long periods of time.

Students are preparing for their Chapter 4 test (tomorrow).  Students are to complete the Chapter Review and Test Practice found in their Science textbook on pages 140-141.  They should complete questions 1-15, the Map the Concept, and 17-19 on loose leaf paper.  HW: Students should finish at home as homework and study for their chapter test, which is tomorrow.
